Commissions
I am always happy when people seek me out with a particular purpose or need in mind. Here are a few examples of past projects:
Commissions
A tapestry piece was commissioned as a wedding gift to celebrate the wedding of a nephew and his wife. This piece incorporates stained glass, glass and metal beads, ceramic tiles, costume jewelry, natural stone, and polymer clay.
Wedding gifts

“Once we discovered the mosaics that artist Lisa Horowitz creates, we knew we had landed on the perfect wedding gift for our nephew and bride. Working with Lisa, we were able to commission a beautiful mosaic piece that included the colors, techniques, and subject matter that would uniquely resonate with the newlyweds. Lisa integrated their names and date of the wedding into the design and it now hangs in a special place in their home!” Kay K.
A bathroom mirror was created to coordinate with a client’s powder room using glass bricks, ceramic tiles, and stained glass.
Mirror

“It was such a pleasure to commission a mosaic mirror from Lisa. The mirror is exquisite and even exceeded my high expectations based on her beautiful work. The tile colors and design are stunning! She listened carefully to my suggestions and even completed the work ahead of schedule.”

Wedding Commission

“We absolutely love the frame Lisa made for us with the glass from our wedding day. Not only is it an absolutely beautiful frame but it captures our special day with a physical piece from our wedding. We couldn’t be more happy with her immaculate work!” Julie B.

A client requested a fully decorated “house” to serve as a Little Free Library in front of her home. The paint colors coordinated with her rowhouse colors and the side panels were made from mosaic panels (suitable for outdoor use) depicting birds and flowers.

Cat Tray
"I just LOVE my Shepsil tray that Lisa made for me and Shepsil! My morning coffee ritual includes having my coffee in bed when I wake up and Shepsil joins me for a small bowl of milk--a very important start to our day--thank you Lisa for creating this beautiful work of art."

Lawn Sign
"Ever since I moved into a new house, I wanted a colorful lawn sign that would show some personality, but couldn’t find the right thing. Lisa helped me talk through the design, colors, and various options for numbers and materials, and I couldn’t be happier with the result!"
